On Friday 4th April 2014, I went to hopetheverb ‘s house with a bunch of Vegan treats and made a lovely vegan meal to show her the sort of things you can have on that diet. Oh the delights we had!

When we got back from shopping, I started on the food (on the top right is I and the top left is the lovely Hope), whilst I let Hope play on the camera!
The food itself (a tofu stew) is the right picture on the third row, a mix of veg, stock, tofu and beans. YUM YUM YUM! Oh and brown rice with a bit of soya sauce.

We started off, whilst the stew was… well.. stewing, with a soft ‘cheese’ which was a mix between tartex (well, that’s what my mum calls it, hah, tartex is a brand rather… you guys know that mushroom pâté you can get in wholefoods shops? yeah.. kinda like that…) and philadelphia to me. But nothing like philadelphia to Hope or my Mum hah… just like tartex to my mum, but still yummy all the same, especially with the japanese crackers we had! (oh and Hope made her fox from the Grace box XD)

Then the food came out! I eat this stew a lot, it’s easy to make, filling and involves pretty much everything you need. Then came the after dinner foods. We first had soya yoghurt and agave nectar, Hope loved the nectar! And I think the yoghurt went down well as well!.

The ice cream was next! oh my! The ice cream! I hadn’t had this one before (Booja Booja truffles are my favourite, so I had no worry about the ice-cream!).. and I am so glad we did try it!

We also had dairy free chocolate buttons, and dairy free chocolate covered brazil nuts, but I didn’t get any good enough photos of them, but they where a-ma-zing!

And last but not least, we tried the milk, hemp milk and then coconut and chocolate, dairy free milk. Not so convincing… I don’t mind these personally on milk or in some drinks, but on their own they aren’t anything too amazing.

I am glad to say, we both enjoy the books! These are only a select few of my favourites, I used to use them the first time around and still continue too!

So there you go, that concludes our vegan taster session. I hope you enjoy reading about our experience!

Check out the post HERE as well.

The music scene in Leicester is pretty awesome in my idea. It’s very active, busy and so vibrant.

These are only a few of the great people involved in this scene, and some of the most vibrant of the bunch.

I enjoy every second of time I spend at these nights. This particular night was 18th March at the Marquis of Wellington in Leicester. Fantastic faces, a great vibe and lovely food!

You people make the world go round.
